Are you lazy?

Well, there seems to be a whole lot of that going around!

Often called couch potatoes or slackers- they are the group that enjoys their nice comfortable couch over any other possible activity!

Those who enjoy take-out, night after night over home cooked meals!

Those who would rather spend an excruciating hour in the dental chair then at the gym!

While this sounds like something that many have been at one time or another, it is becoming an addiction for many. And, they are turning their laziness into a career.

Could this possibly be you? Does the following describe you?

- You are consistently inactive.
- You would rather be on the side lines in a lawn chair then a participant.
- You are a master at making excuses.
- You are constantly finding ways to avoid the long haul.

If you recognize these in yourself, do not get discouraged. There are many reasons why a person is lazy. Consider the following:

1- Are you sleep deprived? This happens to many Americans and the result that follows is a lack of motivation. Which quickly results in laziness. It is important to get at least
eight hours of sleep each night. Some experts even suggest ten hours of sleep each night.

2. Are you abusing caffeine: Each morning do you start your day with a jolt of java?
While you may think this is getting you the energy you need to start the day, it is a rush
and burn effect and should be eliminated from your diet. It is important to rely on your supply of natural energy.

3. Is it just a habit? Laziness becomes a habit. It is just simple a mode that we adjust to. A rhythm, a cycle. We come home sit on the couch and it is this way night after night.

4. Lack of activity? Are you in a job that constantly has you behind the desk? Do you
engage in regular exercise? If not, then it is time to get up and get your body moving!
A simple start is to take a 30 to 60 minute walk each day before or after work. Once you
have started this cycle, contact me and we will get started on developing a fitness program

Laziness starts small and slowly takes control. You know that it is time to take action instead of letting the cycle continue.

Take a moment and picture your "ideal self". What do you look like? How do you feel?
What kind of activities do you have? Who is in your life? The only obstruction standing in your way from your "ideal self" is laziness!

Know, consider this, your "ideal self" took the first step to reach their "ideal self". Take
the time and start today!

For a great summer pasta salad try this tasty quick recipe below!

1 package classic Betty Crocker Suddenly Salad mix
1/3 cup of sour cream
3 tablespoons of water
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 cup cherry tomato halves
1/2 cup green bell pepper cut in strips
2 chopped green onions
1 cup cubed roast beef or chicken
Tortilla chips
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Old El Paso salsa

Fill a 3 quart saucepan with 2/3 full of boiling water. Empty pasta mix and boil for 12 minutes stirring occasionally.

Drain the pasta and rinse under cold water. Shake the pasta to drain.

Stir together Seasoning mix, water, sour cream, and chili powder in a large bowl. Stir in pasta vegetable mixture, tomatoes, onion and bell pepper. Stir in the meat.

Line the serving plate with tortilla chips and mound the salad onto the chips. Sprinkle the top of the salad with Cheddar cheese and serve with salsa.
